At SIDORA THE LABEL, each piece of jewelry is created with detailed and delicate craftsmanship and while design catches the eye, there is one factor that is even more important when choosing the right jewelry — the material. 

We pride ourselves on being transparent about the materials we use. Ultimately, our goal is to provide the highest quality possible in our field while remaining within our manufacturing integrity to ensure quality and longevity. All our demi-fine pieces are made with a base of Sterling Silver and plated with genuine 18k gold or rhodium.

 BASE METAL

Sterling Silver: Sterling silver is a precious metal that contains 92.5% silver. It is more durable than pure silver, which is extremely malleable and very easily damaged. With proper care, sterling silver can last a lifetime.

PLATING MATERIALS

18k Gold: 18 karat amounts to 75% gold. The higher the gold content, the lower the chances to cause an allergic reaction for those with sensitive skin. 18 karat is the highest purity of gold considered practical for everyday wear and tear.

 

Rhodium: Rhodium is a rare, precious metal that is hypoallergenic and non-corrosive. We use rhodium for our white gold finish because unlike natural white gold, it is nickel free, highly tarnish and scratch resistant and retains its luster for much longer.

In addition to their 18k gold or rhodium plating, all STL pieces are layered with an organic e-coating to lock in the finish and ensure longevity. Our jewelry is lead and nickel free, and always safe for sensitive skin.
